Pat's Design Projects

These projects can be very helpful aids when designing new paper airplanes or testing new paper airplane designs. Also, when presenting a science fair project appearance is extremely important. Both the neatness and the appearance of effort, bring attention to your project. To many Jr. High School students this may seam less important than the content and the results, but the truth is that we must always learn to be salesmen of our work. This a valuable lesson that can be learned now, and one that will always hold true.

The first project is to make a paper airplane folding aid. Many of our projects will be to test paper airplane designs that are modified by slight dimension changes. Using a ruler and marking each paper airplane is time consuming and this folding aid can be a great time saver.

The most important design feature in a paper airplane design is the location of the Center of Gravity of the paper airplane. The second project is to make a balancing fixture for locating a paper airplane's Center of Gravity. This tool will allow us to find and mark the C.G.'s for each paper airplane design.

The third project is how to make a paper airplane display base. This is one of those presentation "counts" projects. Being able to display some of the paper airplane designs used in your project can go a long way in making the whole project look professional.

I have added more than one material to use on each project so don't hesitate to not check these projects out just because you don't have the materials shown in the link pictures. To get to the project instruction page you can click on the pictures below. I hope you find these projects of value.
